CASE STUDY
Cutting Claim Costs for Shipping Company
Centralized fleet management automation platform that reduced claim costs, streamlined operations, and improved resource management efficiency.
Problem Solved
The project addressed fleet, equipment, and personnel management inefficiencies with fleet management automation by developing a monitoring tool that delivers daily actionable insights and automates key operational processes. The goal was to optimize resource allocation and enable the client to focus on strategic priorities through centralized and efficient management.
Problem Solving Approach
First, the project started with analyzing core operational processes and evaluating the capabilities of the various third-party software in use. Next, the architectural design was crafted to enable seamless software integration and extend its functionalities. Following this, requirement engineering was conducted to ensure that all user needs were addressed, with prototype designs used to validate concepts with users and stakeholders.
The project leveraged existing services within the shipping company’s infrastructure, complemented by end-to-end software development and design services, to deliver a comprehensive solution tailored to the project’s requirements.
Outcome
A monitoring tool was developed, complemented by additional tools, designed to optimize fleet, equipment, and personnel management processes. The tool reports around 200 potential issues daily, allowing the client to address challenges proactively. Processes like maintenance scheduling and driver coaching were automated, cutting claim costs, optimizing resource allocation, and enabling the client’s team to concentrate on strategic priorities. Comprehensive reporting supports these efforts.
