Problem Solved

The project required new service development and migration of important features from a large user-facing application that no longer served business goals. The features were migrated to another application as an independent service within the system. The goal was to centralize various services to make them more user-friendly and accessible to customers.

The features were migrated to another application as an independent service within the system. The goal was to centralize various services to make them more user-friendly and accessible to customers.

Problem Solving Approach

First, the features were migrated to the new application as an independent service. This required communication with the external systems service it was previously integrated with and planning and setting up new integration pipelines.
The number of added features significantly increased, resulting in the need for new product features to be defined and designed. This involved intense collaboration between the designer and product manager.
Massive data migration was executed without issues in production.

Outcome

The new architecture was implemented as an independent service, providing flexibility and adaptability. This allowed for swift future changes, regardless of feature complexity. New designs and methods for visualizing user data, along with additional features, improved user experience and independence.

Business and Tech Challenges

The project presented challenges due to tightly coupled integrations between projects, a complex business domain, and critical database changes. Data migration was particularly demanding, requiring flawless execution. Additionally, the introduction of new features and design added complexity. However, deep knowledge of the project’s business logic allowed balancing between maintaining or improving existing functionalities while implementing new ones.
